Holly Brown (DVM, PhD, DAVCP) and Michelle Evason (BSc, DVM, DACVIM, MRCVS) summarize key aspects of tick-borne disease pathogen screening in dogs with a focus on Anaplasma spp. and available testing options. Holly and Michelle provided resources for practical clinical management, reviewed recent peer-reviewed literature, and discussed evidence- and expert-based guidelines for this increasingly common vector-borne disease (VBD) pathogen.
