    Test Description
    The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) thyroid panel for dogs includes a Free T4 by Equilibrium Dialysis (FT4ED), Thyroid Stimulation Hormone (TSH), and Thyroglobulin Autoantibodies (TgAA).

    A completed OFA form must accompany the specimen. Client must also submit a check for $15.00 payable to the OFA or complete the Credit Card information section on the OFA submission form. Contact OFA at 573‑442‑0418 or online at ofa.org.

    Submit samples in 10% neutral buffer formalin (less than 1L of formalin) using a leak-proof container approved for shipping biological specimens. Label with patient name, tissue source, and date. Bag container in zipper-lock see-through bag separately from other samples. All shipments must comply with U.S. DOT regulations. Protect biopsies in freezing temperatures by adding 1:10 ratio isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) to formalin.
    Test Description
    A boarded pathologist with a special interest in oral cavity pathology will evaluate the tissue.

    IMPORTANT: all specimens MUST be packaged in compliance with US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for transporting biological/hazardous materials. Non‑compliant packages will not be picked up. DOT compliant packaging materials can be ordered through healthtracks.com.     This test evaluates for the presence of IgM and IgG antibodies to the feline panleukopenia virus. It will be positive either due to infection or vaccination against panleukopenia. Kittens may test positive due to transmammary transfer of antibodies. This test will also detect antibodies directed against canine parvovirus in cats infected with CPV-2a and CPV-2b.
